EAST SAC ISR LESSONS TERMS OF SERVICE
By registering for this session you agree to attend all scheduled lessons, Monday-Friday, for 6-8 weeks (no extended vacations.) Start dates are subject to change due to weather. Lesson tuition covers your secured time slot for up to 6 weeks. If additional time is required, you will be invoiced at the weekly rate of $175. Deposits and lesson tuition are non refundable and non transferable.
YOUR REGISTRATION IS NOT YET COMPLETE. Prior to Day 1 of lessons, you will receive an email with information about how to complete your ISR registration and prepare for lessons.
NEW STUDENT TUITION PAYMENTS: ISR lessons are $1200 per student for up to 6 weeks of lessons. Unfortunately, the fee for lessons can not be prorated, as you are paying for the time slot whether or not your child comes to lessons. If lessons are discontinued for any reason, you are still responsible for a full 6 weeks of payment (excludes ISR approved medical drops). Please note that weekly tuition is in addition to the $105 national registration fee. *Instructor cancellations due to pool closures, inclement weather, illness, or an emergency are fully credited back to you as a makeup lesson if additional lessons are required. Additional weeks are invoiced at the weekly rate of $175.
RESPECT OF PROPERTY/SUPERVISION: Recreational facilities and host families are gracious to allow lessons on their property. Non-Member use of locker room is not permitted. Restrooms are located on the pool deck. Please keep students and siblings away from toys and off any play equipment. To ensure the safest environment possible, no one is permitted in the pool/lesson area during lessons except the student receiving lessons. Please keep all children that are not having a lesson seated quietly next to you. There should be no venturing or running around the pool as this is distracting to the student and the instructor.
DAILY SCHEDULE: I recommend arriving to the pool area at least 5 minutes before your time slot in order to have your child ready for lessons at his/her scheduled time. Due to a full lesson schedule, your lesson can not be guaranteed if you are not on time. Please leave ample time for front desk check in and parking, the lot and street parking can become full.
PARENT RESOURCE BOOK (PRB): You will be emailed a digital copy of the PRB upon completion of the ISR Registration Process. PLEASE READ THE PRB. This guide contains important information about what to bring to lessons, what to expect, as well as information about creating a safe aquatic environment for your family. Understanding the program is vital to your child’s performance. If you have any additional questions, I am happy to discuss them with you.
DIET: Please do not give your child anything to eat at least 1.5 hours prior to lessons, and no dairy/milk products for at least 2 hours prior to lessons. No one works well on a full stomach, and your child will be working hard. It is important that you avoid giving your child any apples or apple products, pineapples, papayas, passion fruit, peaches, spinach, honey, or celery in any form for the duration of ISR lessons. These foods can cause a build up of gasses in the abdomen, leading your child to experience distention and discomfort. For further information on diet recommendations and requests during lessons, please reference the Parent Resource Book.
DAILY BUDS: BUDS stands for bowel, urine, diet, and sleep. This information will be reviewed daily with a poolside buds interview for all students prior to each lesson. Make sure you discuss any unusual issues and/or concerns with me prior to the lesson, and keep anyone who is bringing your child to lessons informed of BUDS information.
TOWELS: ISR requires 3 towels per child each day. The first towel is used as a germ barrier on the pool deck. The second towel lays on top of the first towel. The child is placed on the second towel once they are done with their lesson, and the third towel is used to cover and dry the child. This policy is in place to prevent the transmission of bacteria from the pool deck, and is also a Covid safety measure. At the conclusion of the lesson, your child will be placed on his/her left side to allow for air release and to recover and to recover from their hard work. Please stay with your child while he/she rests. Facility towels are not provided for ISR lessons.regardless of membership status.
ATTIRE: In-water potty accidents do happen. Due to the fact that we can not continue with any lessons if the sanitation of the pool has been compromised, it is required that each child who is not fully toilet trained be dressed in 2 layers of washable, reusable swim diapers. All new student registrations receive a $15 coupon redeemable at www.isrstore.com which can be used towards an approved swim diaper. I recommend this layer be worn close to the skin. A Splash About Happy Nappy Diaper is required to be worn as an outer layer (available on Amazon- size should be snug.) Please do not wring swim diapers out onto the pool deck or into the water. If two clean, reusable diapers are not available at the lesson start time, your child may not swim that day. If a bowel movement leaks from the diapers into the pool, or occurs with a potty trained student with no swim diaper, a $200 cleaning fee plus a $30 fee for each following canceled lesson will apply.
VIDEO/PHOTOGRAPHY: You may take photographs at any time. Due to the proprietary nature of ISR’s technique, videotaping/recording is only allowed on Fridays. If uploading to social media, please feel free to tag @eastsacisr on Instagram.
ADVERSE WEATHER: ISR safety protocols require the air temperature to be at least 60 degrees in order to conduct outdoor lessons. During fire season, outdoor lessons will not be held if the Air Quality Index is 150 or higher. In the event of heavy rain or lightning, lessons may also be canceled. You will be notified via email if lessons are canceled.
COVID: If a confirmed case of Covid or Covid exposure is discovered within the household, please follow current local quarantine guidelines and notify me via text or email immediately. Lessons will be put on hold pending test results. If you or your child is experiencing any Covid symptoms, please contact me and refrain from attending lessons until we have spoken.
ILLNESS: If your child must miss a lesson unexpectedly due to illness, please contact me by text or by email. Should it result in an extended absence from lessons, please contact me such that arrangements can be made to hold or reschedule your child’s time slot. If your child misses lessons for 3 days in a row, is put on medication, or has any other changes in their registration information, lessons will be put on hold and you will be required by ISR to update the medical information for the ISR Registration Evaluation Team to review in order to ensure your child receives the safest, fastest, most effective lessons possible.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: Consistency is crucial to not only the learning process, but also the retention of learned skills. Bringing your child every day will increase the rate of progress and skill retention. I am aware that your family’s calendar is dynamic, therefore, please let me know as far in advance as possible if you know your child will be missing lessons. I want to do everything I can to make sure your child’s experience is second to none. Please also keep in mind that lessons are not prorated and you are agreeing to pay for all scheduled lessons.
INTERFERENCE: Swimming outside of lessons may result in adding weeks to the lesson set. Please refrain from swimming outside of lessons. Conflicting sensory information in the pool at home (such as feeling supported when standing on the steps, or popping the head up to breathe) while survival postures (ie. head down, hips/feet up) are being shaped in lessons can confuse your child. This interference in the process can make learning to swim-float-swim much more challenging. If prolonged interference occurs, you may be asked to withdraw from lessons. Refunds will not be provided.
QUESTIONS: It is very important to me that any questions or concerns you may have are addressed. If for any reason or at any time this is the case, I am happy to discuss your needs with you. Due to my constant focus on each child’s individual safety and needs during their lesson, the pool deck may not be the best place or time for us to converse and I may not be able to provide you with my full focus. The best method for these conversations is via phone or email. I will not be able to return your call until I am out of the water but I will return your call as soon as possible, usually the same day. My cell phone number is (415) 328-7825 and my email address is C.MacDougald@infantswim.com.
SURVEY: You will receive two surveys throughout the course of your lessons, and I would genuinely appreciate your feedback. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

Students may be revealed by first name only. I authorize the use of these images indefinitely without compensation to me. I release and hold harmless Caitlin MacDougald, Infant Swimming Resource LLC, and/or any Host Pool Facility or Property Owner from any potential liability for personal injuries suffered before, during, or after lessons that are not directly related to the in-water lesson.
